Images disappear after rotating them

Some combinations of applications work well but some applications don't like eachother. A wrong combination can lead you to the most inexplicable results. Last week I visited a client  who said that pictures disappeared after they were rotated with the windows explorer.

It sounds like a strange story, soon I found that the images had not been deleted, but the images were hidden. When you went to the control and choose FolderOptions and then the option to display hidden files also, they were visible again.

Still there was a question, why were those images being hidden after they were rotated. The problem turned out to be in McAfee. Apparently, late June 2011 they released an update (before that time, everything worked without any problems) which was automatically installed with the above side effects as a result.

Untill now I haven't found an option in McAfee to set everything back to normal operation. So the only option was to install a different virusdefender. Hopefully there will ben an update of McAfee soon with a solution for this problem. Until that time it is wise to be informed about this strange behaviour...
