Disadvantage of this card readers is that they ensure you with a whole battery of extra stations which appear when you look in "my computer". The amount can be so much that you actually have no idea what station you have to click to view the contents of the memory card you put into your computer.
Of course, Windows 7 has a solution for this behaviour. Go into the Windows 7 controlpanel (start-> configuration), select "folder options" and after that select "view" at the top of the screen for. The following window appears (in this case it's a screenshot in the Dutch language):
In the above window, click on "Hide Empty drives in the computer folder" and then click "OK".
While browsing the Internet, the wireless connection was interrupted every now and than and and the famous exclamationmark appeared in the system tray to indicate that the connection had no or limited access. After some time the connection recovered automatically to disappear again sometime later.
After this setting was changed to "Maximum Performance" the network connection was functioning properly again.
In Windows 7 are a lot of options, older features (with a new interface) and new features. One of the features which can be quite usefull is the AeroSnap function. With this function it is possible to put two Windows at the same time on one screen.
The fun part (and usefull of course) is the fact that a windows quick and with quite simple key combinations can be put at the desired place.
Select the windows you want to move and use one of the following key combinations:
- Windowskey - Arrow left : Put the window on a half screen at the left.
- Windowskey - Arrow right: Put the window on a half screen at the right.
- Windowskey - Arrow up: Maximize the window on the full screen.
In the screenshot above two windows of the internet explorer are used. Of course it is possible to use various combinations of applications (an excel and a word document next to each other for example).
Finally a last remark to the AeroSnap function. The AeroSnap function works only on separate windows, it is not possible to put (for example) two tabs of the internet explorer next to each other. When you want to achieve this you have to start to separate sessions of the internet explorer and go to the desired webpage.
As a wrote sooner is one of my weblogs Windows 7 is being delivered without mail program. Users had to choose an alternative program as Windows Live Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird or Outlook.
One user decided to install Windows Live Mail on his Windows7 computer and had a strange problem this week. When he got a mail with a PDF document attached and tried to open this, he got the following message:
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel.
The Adobe Acrobat Reader was installed om the computer and from other programms the Acrobat Reader started without any problem. Just in case I have un-installed and installed the reader again but this didnt solve the problem. In a last attempt I habe installed a programm called the Foxit Reader (an alternative, small PDF Reader) and guess what... ? No more problems, PDF documents kan be opened without any problem with Windows Live Mail.
In some way there is a problem in the communication bethween Windows Live Mail and other programms. The option "send to" e-mail from Microsoft Word does not work without problems. Enough evidence to make the Windows Live Mail part of an investigation..
For the time beeing you can use the workaround by installing the Foxit Reader...
